WHAT A GREAT DAY!. When we decided to have an Open Day we had no idea what response we would get. Thanks to a mammoth publicity effort consisting of leafletting the whole of Penylan, posters in shops, churches, community centres, libraries, posts on community Facebook sites and good old word of mouth we had an estimated 60 visitors. Even the earlier rain, before the sun came out, didn’t dampen the fun. For most of the visitors it was their first experience of Petanque and all said they had enjoyed it. We didn’t expect immediate results but 2 couples joined the club on the spot, others took away membership forms and even more said they would definitely be back.
