Monkstone Team Win WPA National Veterans’ Competition

On a bitterly cold day last Sunday at Pontyclun PC a team from Monkstone PC ran out as the 2018 WPA National Veterans’ Champions.

The team consisting of Roger Griffin, Tony Smith, Vickie Adshead & Bernard Adshead won all 5 of their games for a commanding victory and, along with Wenvoe PC who were placed second, will now be invited to represent Wales in the Veterans Nations Cup run by the Dutch Petanque Federation (NJBB) at Schijindel South Holland On 13th – 14th – 15th April.

After battling hard all day the top four results were:

Please come and support your club for the most important meeting of the year. All nominations have been received for Executive positions:

President , Secretary and Treasurer remain in place with no new nominations.

Welsh Cup for Clubs 2018

This is an annual competition for WPA clubs, the winner of which has the opportunity to represent Wales in the European qualifying competition in July 2018. Our club’s executive unanimously decided that we will enter a team for the Welsh leg of the competition.  If you want to enter you need to be aware that you must commit to taking part in the Euro qualifier at your own expense should the club get through.  Details of the competition dates and other details are net yet available from the WPA but we will keep you posted.
