A big thank-you to Roger Green who ran today’s melee which replaced the Open Triples which we had to cancel due to the lack of entries. In glorious sunshine 25 people took part in a very enjoyable competition which was eventually decided on points difference with a number of players having 3 wins out of 3. The top three were:

The much delayed 2017 President’s Cup got underway on Mo
nday 2 April 2018. Despite the depressing weather forecast, the competition, in the format of a melee, was played for the most part in bright sunshine much to the relief of the 13 hardy souls who turned out to play.
The competition was fierce with various members looking likely to emerge as the winner as the play progressed. In the end there were 7 people who emerged with 2 wins out of 3 games but the clear winner was Phil Roberts who was the only one to win all 3 games.
Congratulations to Phil and thanks to Mike Jones for his excellent organisation of the competition.

This event will take place on Easter Monday – 2 April 2018 – regardless of the weather following its numerous postponements. It will be a melee so no pre-entry is required just turn up by 10:45 am prompt for 11:00 am start.
NOTE: As this is a competition for a Club trophy, it is restricted to Club Members only.
The annual Monkstone PC Open Doubles will take place at the Club on Sunday 15 April 2018.
The Prize Pot will depend on the number of entries but will be a GUARANTEED MINIMUM of £100.
Entry Fee is £10 per team.
Registration will be between 8:30am and 9:00am for a 9:30am start.
The Club bar will be open at lunch time.
Entries are limited to 32 teams.

This is a quiz with a difference – you will have to come to find out what its all about. Cost £6 per person to include a chilli supper. Maximum 6 people in a team.
We’ve already started to get bookings. Teams are a maximum of six persons, so why not get a team together by inviting your friends.
